In adolescents, usually after a completed tooth change or if this has already progressed further, brackets (small brackets for the wires) can be attached to the teeth. The wires are fixed to these in order to be able to carry out the desired tooth movement. Fixed braces are necessary to bring displaced teeth in line, as well as for most targeted, precise, desired tooth movements.
