Born and raised in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia. Medical training in Leipzig, Saxonia and Prague, Czech Republic. Medical licence in 2010. Consultant in Psychiatry and Psychotherapie (cognitive behavioural therapy) since 2017. Doctoral degree in 2012, 'CSF-Orexin- A in patients with major depression and bipolar disorder'. Postdoctorate degree (Habilitation, 'Inflammatory and electroencephalographic parameters in the diagnosis and treatment of depressive disorders') and venia legendi for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in 2018. Research interests focus on neuroinflammatory processes in psychiatric disorders, especially affective disorders, and the interaction between mediators of inflammation and neurophysiology, psychopathology, therapeutic outcome, affections of behaviour as well as metabolic alterations. For these translational investigations, particularly actigraphic, sonographic, EEG and ECG measures are applied.
