Welcome to the website of the Institute for Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Chemistry and Molecular Diagnostics (ILM). Our institute is a partner for laboratory medical care and advice in all areas of health care. With over 900 methods accredited according to ISO DIN 15189 and 17025, the institute offers modern laboratory diagnostics tailored to individual patient care at the highest analytical level. As a partner in the Center for Rare Diseases, the LICA Allergy Center, the University Cancer Center UCCL, the coagulation outpatient clinic and the transplant board, the institute is closely networked with UKL clinics and is involved in a large number of scientific cooperation projects and clinical studies at Leipzig University Medicine. The institute is significantly involved in the development and operation of the medical biobank of the medical faculty. For 20 years, the ILM has also been one of 12 approved German laboratories to screen newborns in around 38,000 newborns in the Free State of Saxony and Thuringia as partners in the Screening Center Saxony and Prevention Center Thuringia.
Our research fields include metabolomics, protein analytics as well as
molecular and genetic research of cardiovascular diseases, metabolic
disorders and CDSS (clinical decision support systems).
