Preparation for the birth

We are happy to pass on our knowledge and experience about childbirth to expectant parents.

Our antenatal course covers:

  • Breathing and relaxation exercises
  • Information about the various stages of childbirth
  • Birthing positions
  • Breastfeeding
  • Postnatal care
  • Looking after your newborn child

To register, please phone the delivery room – if possible, before your 25th week of pregnancy, so that we can plan the courses as optimally as possible.

Postnatal care

Once you and your child have been discharged from the clinic, we can continue to provide you with care in your home if you so wish. You will always have the benefit of our experience.

During our regular home visits, we can help you to breastfeed and to meet the needs of your infant. We midwives will monitor the baby's condition, its weight gain, and how well the umbilical area is healing.

The mother's health is also important to us, so we will monitor the condition of her breasts and check how lactation is progressing, how well any wounds are healing, and the mother's rate of recovery. We want to help you to adapt to this new stage of your life with as little stress as possible.

If necessary or if you would like us to, we can make daily visits to your home up to the 10th day after the birth. Additional visits are also possible up to the 12th week of the baby's life. For as long as you continue to breastfeed, you can contact the midwives for help.

Please contact our midwives during your pregnancy. This will help you to get to know each other and enable you to develop a relationship of trust with your personal midwife.
