Many cancer patients feel the need to seek a second opinion from a specialist centre when they are diagnosed. The desire for a second opinion may also arise during ongoing treatment.
Obtaining a second opinion from an oncologist is expressly recommended by the German Cancer Society (DKG), the regional cancer societies and German Cancer Aid. It increases the certainty that all aspects of your disease are well investigated, correctly interpreted and treated in a targeted manner.
Take advantage of the second opinion service offered by the University Cancer Centre Leipzig. You have a right to it!
WHAT OPTIONS DO YOU HAVE?
- You ask your treating physician to contact us and discuss the situation with us. We will be happy to do so.
- You come to us for a second opinion. We will be happy to make an appointment with you (see Registration at the top of this page).
- Relatives can also obtain a second opinion about the clinical picture of their relative or friend. However, we require the written consent of the patient. Consultations with relatives take place in person at our premises.
