Adaptation Course for Midwives from Third Countries (Non-Member Countries)

​​​​The University of Leipzig is offering an adaptation course for professional recognition targeting midwives from third countries, starting 1 April 2025. This course will enable you to fulfil the requirements of your official assessment. Once you have completed the required theoretical and practical components, you will be able to apply for a licence to carry the professional title of "midwife" in Germany.

The full-time course lasts a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 18 months. After admission to the course, you will receive a personalised timetable. In accordance with section 53, subsection 1 HebStPrV, the course concludes with an examination in the form of a personal interview.

Do not hesitate to contact us – we will discuss all further details with you. For the practical part of the adaptation course, you will need an employment contract with a maternity clinic in Saxony.
