Mass spectrometry is a key technology for the detection and identification of disease-related metabolites and proteins in human body fluids. Omics-technologies like metabolomics, lipidomics, peptidomics and proteomics would be inconceivable without mass spectrometry. The Section of Clinical Mass Spectrometry is working along the process of biomarker discovery, validation of high-throughput mass spectrometry methods according to ISO 15189 and 17025 for clinical studies and with special expertise of LDT qualification as in-house IVD for patient care.
