You are here: Department of Radiooncology

Dear patients, dear colleagues,

Radiotherapy is a key treatment for many cancers. The outpatient and inpatient facilities of the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Leipzig Medical Center, provide the whole spectrum of technology required for advanced radiation treatments.

In our department, every radiation treatment is specifically tailored for each individual patient while taking into account his or her individual treatment goals. A very close collaboration with our referring physicians is paramount for us in order to provide holistic and comprehensive cancer care. Our position within the University Cancer Center Leipzig and the Comprehensive Cancer Center Central Germany (CCCG) enables the integration of radiotherapy as well as additional surgical or medical therapies into the individual treatment pathway for each of our patients.

Within the Department of Radiation Oncology, an experienced team of experts as well as an advanced technological infrastructure are available to provide state-of-the-art treatments for our patients. We also offer our patients access to innovative clinical trials in order to improve and further develop the standards of modern cancer care.

Having carried out medical training and having obtained medical licenses as a physician both in the United States of America and the United Kingdom, I know about the concerns and particularities of international patients requiring treatment abroad. Our medical staff has ample experience in treating international patients, and our colleagues are fluent in many languages.

If you have any questions or want to enquire about treatment at our center, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to answer all questions – in person, on the phone or digitally.

Yours sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Dr. Nils Henrik Nicolay
